Is voice feedback actually better than text surveys for local businesses?

Star ratings tell you how customers feel. Voice tells you why. The difference between '3 stars' and 'the pasta was great but I waited 40 minutes and the bathroom was dirty' is the difference between a number you cannot act on and a sentence that tells you exactly what to fix. Text surveys fall somewhere in between — better than stars, but most customers type three words and move on.
